My vacation started on Wednesday at 3pm, although I mentally checked out of work at about 11:30am that day. I always try to take time off during my birthday week, around July 31st, because it is generally VERY hot at that time. This year I only got to take 2 days so they were July 31 and August 1 and of course the weekend.

STOP. Wait my computer just rebooted itself, back in a minute. I can see that nothing has changed here at work since I have been gone.  Thanks God Firefox has this restore session feature.

year was no exception. I had created alot of projects over the past few months that needed to be finished up. Problem was I just had NO motivation to do anything.

I did get one project completed, I got the foyer cabinet built, you can see it here, behind the girls. The Queen had bought this about 3 weeks ago and after opening up the box and looking at the directions I was like HELL NO, I am NOT putting this together. She just LOVES buying things that I have to put together, she must LOVE hearing me bitch about putting this stuff together.  As usual I swore through the entire process of putting it together and as usual she laughed about it.

So that was about the extent of my vacation, one project completed and ALOT of time I just not account for.  Now I am back at work and as I walked through the door to the office my bad attitude came right back.  I sure could use a vacation.

So I thought I would empty out the reading basket in my “office”, as you can see its been awhile since I did a little inventory. There is an Inc., Entrepreneur, Home Theater, Fast Company, Glamour, Latina, Home & Living Trends magazines, Ikea catalog and a Home Interiors catalog.

The Glamour and Latina magazines are not really mine, but I do read the Glamour magazine, it has some good insites about women. From time to time you may find a Cosmopolitan in here also, but its been awhile. The Latina magazines I admit I do like just for the women and as you can see my girl Jessica Alba is on the cover.

What’s in you basket?

After I finished putting together the cabinet / chest / table, whatever you wanna call it behind the girls, one of them wanted their picture taken.  Guess Who? Twin 1 ( L ) is on the left and Twin 2 ( R ) is on the right. We didn’t intentionally name the girls with the initials L and R, as in left and right.

I just want to wish the King a very Happy Birthday, I hope he has a wonderful day ahead of him 

After I posted part I the other night,  my daughter L was crying in the middle of the night.  She said she was scarred because her dream was about our house on fire. I held her for a while to calm her down and told her the house was fine and to try to go back to sleep.  Well I am sure that you all heard about the earthquake in California yesterday afternoon. My two older kids were out there, and even though they are ok I still wanted them home asap. I had turned on CNN for more news on it and they showed LAX airport and that although all flights were not canceled there was a water pipe that burst and they showed all the water on the floor, well right along with that I saw the area that had water damage was the United terminal in which my kids would be at this morning! It couldn’t be American Airlines, Southwest Airlines or even Quantas! NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO it had to be United. I thought to myself is this yet another sign of something bad happening? Last night L started crying yet again and I asked her what was wrong and she replied “every time I close my eyes I see our house burning!”. I assured her that the house was fine and that nothing was going to happen. But hell I was freakin’ out because I do I know that something won’t happen as far as the house burning down? Was this yet another sign that maybe something will happen to the plane my kids will be on? GOD I hope not. Yes call me paranoid but just know that I was never like this until I had children. I hate feeling like this all the time but I can’t help it.  The flight was delayed 30 minutes so far, I just hope they take off soon, and until they are in my arms I will be a mess!
