Finally! I have not read a book in almost 6 years! No kidding. Once the twins were born that was it, no time to read, no time for me. But that didn’t stop me from buying books, no way. I love Danielle Steel, Mary Higgins Clark, VC Andrews, and John Grisham. I had mentioned before in one of my posts that I have over 20 books that I have yet to read. I started reading a week after the girls started school, I read for 15-20 minutes each day as I wait for them to get out of school. So needless to say a book that would normally take me 3-4 days to read will now take me about 3-4 weeks to read. It just feels so good to get back to doing one thing that I love to do, which is read.
Holy crap this is our 186th post. Pretty soon we will be welcoming in our Bi-Centennial.
Its been raining here pretty much everyday this month. You gotta be kidding me, I just saw a fucking ARK!! No wonder there was no wood at Home Depot this afternoon.
There are no kids in the house over the age of 6 right now, time to, well you know.. :P~~
What the Fuck there is some idiot blowing off fireworks in this rainstorm.
When did Cosmopolitan turn into Penthouse Letters for women?
Just watched Fools Gold, thought with her boy toy Matthew M. in it it would make the Queen a little extra frisky for this evening.
Ewwww TMI !!!
Time to scrub a dub dub.
EWWWW TMI Again!!!!
Ok everyone who knows me personally knows that I am old fashioned. There are times I wish to GOD I wasn’t but that is just how I am. Now ever since the twins started school they have been dying to meet girls to be their friends. Last week the teacher sent home a list of all the kids in their classroom with their phone numbers and addresses along with e-mail addresses. The girls have been inviting kids over everyday after school which I don’t mind but I would like a day or two notice before we have “play dates”. Today 15 minutes after we get home from school our doorbell rings, and it is a little girl who is in their class. Doesn’t say hi, just walks in when I opened the door and totally ignored me and told the girls “I’m here to play with you”. The girl was alone, no parent, no sibling just her. I have no idea where she lives, I checked the list and see the address but I have no clue where this street is. I cannot believe that whom ever is watching this little girl did not come with her to introduce themselves and to see where this little girl was going. I asked her if her mother knew where she was and (she replied snotty) she says “MY grandmother is watching me not my mother” and R asked her what time does she have to be home and her reply (Are you ready for this?) I’ll go home when I feel like it. OMG!!!!!! I told the girls that we have to go and get the big one from school so this little girl will be going home soon. Do her parents or “grandmother” not know that we have a society that is no longer safe? There’s a little girl that lives 2 houses down from us (also in the twins class) that rides her bike on the street, she’s 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A car almost hit her this past summer, because she just drove her bike on the street without looking for cars. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Don’t these parents care about their kids? The same little girl rang my doorbell at 7am one Saturday morning, still in her nightgown with flip flops on asking if the girls could come out and play. Again, where the are the parents? I have latches on my doors so that the girls (and foster kids) don’t just run out the door. These kids are running around the block like I use to do back in the 70’s when it was safer to play outside, where we could play till 10pm, and all our parents had to do was look out the window and they would see us. We knew our boundaries and we would be out from 11am till 10pm with a lunch and dinner break in between. But now with all of these crazies out there, I will not take a chance with my kids. I even worry when the boy (almost 12) doesn’t come home to check in after 3-4 hours. I know that everyone is different but I am sure we will all be the same when GOD forbid we are in mourning should something happen to our kids, right? Or am I wrong about that too?
As I watched my girls ride their bikes up and down the sidewalk yesterday afternoon, I noticed that the leaves on our trees are slowing but surely turning colors. YIKES!!! What happened to summer? Why is it that summer goes by so fast? Please Mr. Summer, don’t leave us, we love you, we enjoy our days with you. This morning brought coolness along with light rain, it felt good to stand out there for a few minutes having the breeze touch my face and the smell of the rain, oh how I love it, but if I could turn back the time I would start summer all over again.
Until next year Mr. Summer, I will miss you and I will count the days till you are here again.
I took my kids to get gym shoes for school, they need a pair that stays at school for when they have PE. My daughter L had mentioned (once I had already bought the shoes) that she doesn’t know how to tie them. Can you believe that we had gotten so used to buying the kids shoes with velcro that it didn’t dawn on me that I had yet to teach my girls how to tie shoes. So here I go back to the store to buy velcro gym shoes for gym, all the while keeping the tie ones for home, those they can use when they go out to play. So I started almost immediately showing them how to tie shoe strings. R always get frustrated if she doesn’t pick up quickly so I have to spend more time with her. L caught on after about two hours of trying and trying. She is the one who is more determined to learn and learn fast. But as I was at Payless Shoe Store they had one of their sales, buy one and get one half price. Excellent! Just what I needed, thank you GOD. So I get the girls their shoes, go around to the boys section to pick up a pair for the boy, well not much of a selection for him so I looked for my foster son and found a pair for him, so now I said to myself, “gee all I need is to find another pair of shoes to get them half price. So I go to see what they have in my size, not that I need another pair of shoes but I figured what the heck, doesn’t hurt to look. Well those of you who know me know that I love stilettos shoes. I was in fact looking for gym shoes, no such luck. However………… I found a pair of black stiletto boots! One pair in my size, black and with my high heel, best part…….. they were already on sale from $44.99 to $9.00, which means I paid $4.50. $4.50!!!!!!!!! I have never seen such a great sale like this at Payless! I tell the boy who was just as excited as I was (which was cute) he kept saying “you gotta buy them mom, you gotta buy them”. Once again I don’t need them, I have three pair at home, but of course not this style
So yes I bought them and I am sooooooo excited. This is my type of shopping, now if I can only find sales like this for kids clothing.
