The Neighbors - Lazy One

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

Does anyone else have a neighbor that does nothing himself. We got a guy that has his father in law do EVERYTHING. Now I don’t mean he has him help him, No FIL does the work while the neighbor sits in the house. I think his wife cuts the grass, because I know his next door neighbor has his kid go out and cut his grass when he see the wife outside doing it.

I finally did it!

It has been a long time coming.  For the last year I have been wanting to go into the basement and give it a good cleaning, we have so much crap down there it is not even funny.  So I went down there last weekend and really tackled the mess.  I know that the King is dying to get the basement done to his liking so I wanted to clean the basement   ASAP. I cannot believe how much stuff I have for a yard sale.  It took me two weekends to go through everything but I did it. I am so glad that as soon as I have the yard sale our basement will look big again. The only thing that will drive me nuts is pricing everything, oh yeah and the thing I hate is when I have a sale people are always wanting me to lower the prices.  WTF man, if you can’t afford a dollar then don’t go garage sale shopping! I have never asked anyone to drop their price, if I really want it then I pay the amount they have on the item. I just hope I can sell just about everything, normally when I have a garage sale it’s just toys and house items, but this time we will have big items like furniture.  So my DH your basement is almost ready for you, just be a little bit more patient.  :)

He’s fired? What?

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Ok well he wasn’t really fired, he just wasn’t chosen as the Celebrity Apprentice. I was really dissapointed to say the least. Now, I had mentioned before that the King and I (by the way I love love love that movie!) watch the Apprentice and I was rooting for Trace Atkins to win. The charity he was playing for is for a real good cause, not that Pierce didn’t have a good charity (one regarding the wounded soldiers, which is also great) but I felt that the charity Trace was for would have benefited more people.  It is a charity for people who have food alergies and while he and his wife were explaining the dangers and the complications, my heart just went out to them. You see they have a daughter who has this and if someone even touches her that had, lets say a peanut butter sandwich she can die within minutes of that contact. It is very horrible and from what I gathered there are millions of people that have this but mainly children. I am sure a lot of you will disagree with me on whom should have won, and I am sure there are many who will say “who cares”. But I love the show, I love the Donald, and yes I love the soldiers that are risking their lives for us, but honestly if we were to ask these soldiers they would have chosen to save the lives of these children (and adults) who have to watch everything they eat in order to stay alive. I am one that gives to the charities that are all for the wounded and homeless  soldiers, hell they deserve to try and live their lives to the fullest no doubt on that, and may GOD bless them and thier families for what they are doing for thier country. I just feel that the other charity should have won. I am sure that now that we are all aware of the seriousness of food alergies we will start to help those in need.

Thank you Trace Atkins for making us aware and may we somehow find a way to control this or better yet a cure.

Dinner with Adults

Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

Since last August our foster children, by law must have 2 sibling visits a month with their two of their older siblings that are also in the system. While having 8 children under one roof a month is not so bad most times, it is a pain in the ass at times. What we do love about these sibiling visits is that our foster children leave us for one weekend. What the king and I have done is taken our chilren out for dinner on Friday nights and rent movies (with tons of popcorn) on Saturday nights.  But since December with the weather being below zero instead of taking the kids out in that kind of weather the king and I went out a few times ourselves, a much needed time away from all of our kids. It is so nice to be able to spend a few hours with the king without the crying and screaming and fighting. This past month we did something a little different, something we have been trying to do since last October. We had dinner with adults! The kings cousin and his wife joined us for some adult conversation which was really nice. We hope that his cousins had a good time as well. I really didn’t want the night to end and I cannot wait to do it again. Of course they did tell us that once we get our pool they will be at our house a lot, which I hope is true because they are fun to be around. Not sure what we will do in April but with the weather “trying” to warm up we will probably start taking our kids to dinner again, we do have a good time taking them it feels so good to be our little family again if only for one weekend a month.

Thanks E&L for a nice night out.

Please Dear God, enough……………

We are now in March and we have had way to many wakes and family deaths to last a lifetime. I really don’t know how much more heart ache I can take. I still think of my cousin T on a daily basis wondering how she isdoing with her kids now that her husband is gone.  My ex-mother in law is still hanging in there, she is one tough woman but her family knows that as hard as she is fighting she will soon tire out.  My husbands grandmother was diagnosed about a few months ago with cancer (her sister just passed away on Sunday). They found a tumor, removed it and the surgery was successful for a woman her age (90). She went in for a PET scan and they found that the damn thing is back, she started chemo but they are not sure tif hey will now continue with it, the doctors stated that the kind of cancer she has is not one that can really be treated. She sounds real good and in good spirits but we all know that she knows the end is coming.  I don’t know why all of a sudden people are dying, maybe it is a sign that GOD is trying to give to me, I don’t know.  I just hope that if he is trying to reach me that I will be able to hear what it is he is trying to tell me.  GOD I am listening please talk to me.
