Holiday Cleanup

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

Today it was 50+ degrees outside a welcome warmup, but it will be short lived from what I hear.  Since the garage had a chance to warm up, I decided to do something that was much overdue…put the holiday decorations back into the garage attic.

No they were not still up, they were just piled up ( the Queens fault on that, she couldn’t get them disassembled ), some still together in the garage, along with a bunch of unbroken down boxes.  Needless to say there was not much room in there, we were barely getting one car into the 2 car garage.

I spent about 1 hour in there unclipping all the wire ties that were holding the Christmas decorations together ( since I put them together only I seem to be able to tear some of them down) and trying to figure out how to repack the boxes back into the attic.  Nothing was going back in the way it came out, I know the Queen bought a few more outside decorations this past year but not so many that it would make this the task it was turning out to be.  I finally got what I thought was everything back up there when I uncovered 2 boxes that are unsually on the bottom of all the others. ( DOH!! ) I know what you are thinking, but no, I didn’t unpack everything and start over, they are staying down till Halloween, I will find a place for them on the ground.

After putting (most) everything away and breaking down the boxes to toss in the garbage, we can now get one of the cars in there without dinging the doors when we get in and out.

If I can only get the Queen to come over to my minimalist way of Holiday decorating this would not be necessary anymore.  Only 7 more months till I start this all over again.

Our Daughters First Valentine!

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Awe! is what I said when I opened the door my “the big one” as she got home from school. A guy named Juan asked her if she wanted a ride home, she said no that’s ok and he said no you need a ride home, so she said ok fine I will meet you outside I have to run to my locker. When she got to his car she noticed that there was a big red bear and flowers in the front seat. He smiled at her and said Happy Valentine’s Day. They not only go to school together but he works at that Taco Hell place as well. I met him 2 days ago and he seems real nice, he is going to college (plus) and he is also wants to be with the FBI and is going with the Will County deputies a few weekends a month for training that will count towards his college degree. He sounds like he really knows what he wants out of life (another plus). I teased M and she laughed and told me to stop, lol

I was happy to see that someone else besides the loser she talked to on the phone for two years is showing her some attention. I will keep you posted if anything should blossom.

Valentine’s Day Go Bust!

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

This morning I had posted on my other blog how my morning went as far as my kids go, and I had mentioned that it was a wonderful day. I knew my husband was going to send me flowers today, no surprise there. And yes he did and yes they were delivered. I was sooooo excited because I had a feeling I knew what kind of roses they were. My favorite and my wedding flowers in my bouquets are the purple roses. I saw a little note stating that they were lavender, so here I am excited to open them, and when I did I wanted to cry, they look like they are 5 days old and they are pink, with 2 stems of some fern looking thing. I see that he ordered them on-line (which I always do) and so I look on the website at FTD.COM and scrolled down to see a beautiful picture of the roses I know he ordered for me, nothing like what I got. So I get on the phone to call and complain because I now know how much he paid for these flowers and there is no way I am going to let him pay good money for roses that he didn’t order. Well of course all circuits are busy, fine, I go on-line and send them an email and I printed it as proof. I feel so bad that here my husband wanted me to have the roses I love only to be upset at the flower shop who sent me last weeks roses. I was near tears when I looked at them, of course the twins think they are nice (what do they know, lol)

But I just want my husband to know that I do not hold this against him at all. He had good intentions and I love him very very much. I just feel bad and yet I am pissed at that flower shop. I hope these people have the balls to call my house cause I am real going to let me have it.

To my wife I would like to wish her a Happy Valentine’s Day, I love you very much. And thank you for the car full of paper cutout hearts. I will be making you your favorite dinner tonight and if you get the kids to bed early you can have your favorite desert..ME!

Christmas Exchanges

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

I finally got to Best Buy to return the Christmas gift I got from the Queen, she got me a HD antenna for my laptop so I could watch the Cubs game while I was at work next season. Although its a great gift it was not very practical and I had read some mixed reviews on the product she had bought me.

The return total was $111 and change, they gave me a gift card and off into the store to look for something else. I already had a pretty good idea on what I was going to get so it was to the movie isles to see what they had. Here is what I picked up, in no special order:

War

Shoot’em Up

Live Free or Die Harder

Saw IV

Good Luck Chuck - Had to get it, it has my girl Jessica Alba in it

American Pie Beta House - I have all the other American Pie movies so I had to get this one too. It is really funny, if you like this sort of movie.

I am not much of a movie reviewer but maybe I will post some movie reviews after I watch these.
