Got a Brand New Pair
Monday, March 3rd, 2008I finally got on the internet and ordered me a new pair of shoes, this was LONG overdue. The old pair was WORN OUT, scuffed, seams tearing and the soles had holes in them, they were wearable but not very fashionable.
I don’t buy new dress shoes that often anymore since my new job does not require it which is the main reason I dealt with them so long. But when I do I want a nice comfortable pair. I have always worn Florsheim shoes, they look good and they are comfortable. If you get their top of the line shoes they feel like slippers when you are wearing them, but there is a cost for this, the last time I actually did buy these it was about $225. Now I have no problem dropping that kind of cash on a pair of shoes but the Queen seems to have a problem with it, so I went with a less expensive model which was about $140.
It is hard to find a store that still carries Florsheim around here so I went online to get them, of course when I did find the pair I wanted they were out of stock. I could probably have waited but I was on the site so I took another 20 minutes trying to find a second choice. I thought I had chosen the same shape of shoe with just a different pattern on them but when they arrived I immediately saw I made a mistake. Below are pics of the shoe I wanted and ultimately picked, can you tell the difference?

The difference if you didn’t notice is the toe style. The shoe I wanted has a more pointed toe, whereas the one I got is more squared off. After I got them I figured it was not that big of a deal, but after wearing them the visual difference to me is quite different. Wearing that style for most of my adult life I am not sure if like the change.
When these wear out I will go back and find the $225 pair, they are much more comfortable and they are the style I am used to. Only problem will be getting the Queen to see how spending $225 on a pair of shoes is justifiable.
