Things To Do This Weekend

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Got good new s this morning, its not going to rain this weekend ( so they say ),  I was worried a the beginning of the week that I was not going to get anything done outside this weekend.

So with the prospect of not getting rained on, I am going to set an aggressive weekend  project list, listed below in no particular order.

1. Cut grass

2. Finish deck framing, railing and as much decking as supplies allow

3. Clean pool and add chemicals

4. Backfill around the pool

5.  Front landscaping

6.  Landscaping around trees

7.  Cleanup basement

If I get all this work done, I think I will be deserving of a special treat.

The Secretary

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

There she is again, taunting me, tempting me, walking back and forth around the office, blonde hair flowing with each step, sweater drawn tight, showing the curves of her body, she goes into the office next to me, through the glass window she flips her hair and laughs playfully, smiling, ignoring me. She wants me.

Thank You for Calling

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

I am in a bad mood already this morning, maybe its because I am tired, maybe I am just sick of this job, tired of doing a job in which I cannot be creative, that I cannot use my mind.

I’ve already had this morning a 5 Hour Energy , a cup of tea , two extra strength pain away tablets that have 65mg of caffeine each and I am starting on my Mountain Dew next. And still my mind just wants to shut down and go back to bed, it knows it is not needed.

All day long ” Thank you for calling …blah blah blah “, like a mindless drone. I could change jobs, but everyday I work here I get dumber and dumber. The IT fields advances and we sit here holding the hands of our customers watching it as it passes us by.

I know I must sound condescending at times to some callers, I know I should not take it out on them, its not their fault that they usually only get an hour of phone training on the product. But they should be able to think a little bit for themselves. Read the error messages, before you call us. And they should have some sort of computer skills. Seriously, you need to at least be able do some basic tasks.

And to our Primadona customers which we must walk on egg shells with and cater to your EVERY whim …. Remember you called US for help, don’t give us attitude when we are trying to help you. Maybe you should also learn some basic computer skills, then maybe you wouldn’t need our help so much.

I could go on and on but you have all heard it before so I will spare you the rest of my bitching.  Go ahead and verbally slap me for once again complaining.  No need to be gentle, I like it rough.

The Broken Window…And the Bullshit Continues…

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Well seeing that our lovely neighbors are not going to pay for our window to be fixed (at least not the entire bill ) I had no choice but to go and file a police report so that I can call my insurance company and have them go after these people to pay. The police officer came over, looked at the window and told me to right out exactly what happened, and while I did that he would go over and talk to the people and see what they had to say.

The cop came back just as I was done writing the whole story out and he mentioned that he got their side of the story, funny though because he said that the owners were not home but the sitter was there and told him what happened. I don’t remember talking to a sitter about the window the day it broke, at any rate he asked if anyone saw this kid break the window so I knew right away that these people were going to use that as an excuse not to pay for my window. Ok, you guys want to be assholes about it bring it on, I have witnesses that heard the mother tell me that her son confessed to breaking it!

The report will not be done for a few days I will then be able to pick it up and call my insurance company. The nerve and ignorance of people. I swear if I see that kid on my property I will call the cops, I am getting sick and tired of people playing stupid and trying to get out of their responsibilites! Plus the cop mentioned that there will be a juvi officer involved. What? Why? I asked, he said because the kid is 13 years old and he admitted to doing property damage. Oh great says the King, just what we need, more freakin’ drama!! How was I suppose to know that a juvi officer would be called. Well maybe this will scare the crap out of these people and have them pay for my window. I told the officer I didn’t want the kid in trouble with the law I just want the window fixed, but he said it was out of our hands and up to the juvi officer. So the saga continues…….

The Broken Window … Part II

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Here is the beginning of the story

Ok, I guess I am having a real bad year so far (a long post is coming soon). I finally got four estimates on having our escape window fixed. The numbers are not pretty either. The lowest is $454.00 the highest is $620.00. I went over to our neighbors house with the estimates and the guy was shocked to see me. He basically said that he had been thinking about what happened and that “he ” felt they shouldn’t have to pay for the whole bill. WHAT??????????? EXCUSE ME????????????? He kept stating that his kid did say he broke it but that it was an accident, AND??????????? (was my thought). I answered back “I don’t feel that I should have to pay for a dime getting it fixed whether it was an accident or not”. I also told him that if my son had broken someone’s window that I would expect to pay for the window getting fixed, would I be happy about it, no but my kid did something wrong, he is my responsibilty. So he said he would talk to his wife and would get back to us. In my mind all this time standing there I kept thinking, small claims court because there is no reason I should have to pay for anything. Oh and let me add that the kids story changed yet again, so now there are three stories.

While I was out getting the big one from work the woman came over to our house, I’ll let the King fill you in on their conversation. What do you guys think? Should we just go ahead and pay for half or be firm and expect the window to be paid for by the neighbor?

Well the woman came over and started talking shit about how she has come over to talk to me as a ” parent ” and how we know our kids flaws, blah blah blah …. my kid has ADHD, he’s clumsy, he has balled his eyes out, he’s been punished, blah blah blah. She just kept talking and talking and talking. Her new story was that her kid was actually trying to take the stone back to where it was taken from when he lost his balance and dropped the stone and it hit the window.

She don’t think she should pay for the entire window, not because of the price, but because it was an accident.

Ya know if her kid was playing with The Boy and they accidentally broke the window, I might not expect them to pay since he was playing at our house. But in reality he was actually trespassing since he was not with our boy, so they should be responsible. That is going to be my logic / reasoning.
