Still a Country Girl?
Entertainment March 22nd, 2008Growing up in a hispanic household you would think that they only music we would listen to was Mexican music, wrong. My father loves all sorts of music, so we grew up listening to not only Mexican music but to the oldies but goodies, and country and western music as well. It was pretty weird because there were times he listened to all three types in one night, he would be singing a spanish song then dancing to the oldies then howling to country, how I wish I had a video camera back then, lol
So all of these types of music have stuck in my head for ever. In the County and Western music I grew up with Dolly Parton, Conway Twitty (I had a crush on him) Johnny Cash and Lorretta Lynn just to name a few. As I grew older I was not interested in the newer singers that came along, heck I cannot even name one right now, (I think one of them has the last name of Black) so needless to say I continued to listen to the classic singers. Well the King and I love the Apprentice, we have always watched the Donald fire someone, and my least favorite person on that show is that bitch Armarosa (sp) oh do I go crazy when I see that ugly face on TV. Anyway there is a Country and Western singer on the show right now who is so funny, very smart and has always given his team great ideas for projects. His name is Trace Adkins, he has a cute face, a nice bod but the one thing that turns me off about him is that he is really balding under his cowboy hat. Now I know that should not bother me seeing that the King has close to nothing on top of his head but this singer had long hair as well, so if you dont know who he is, imagine a man with no hair on top of his head with long hair on the back of his head. Anyway last week when we were watching the show I told the king that I was going to go and buy all Trace Adkins CD’s that I could find. I wanted to see just how talented this man is, seeing that he is really good on the apprentice. I went out and bought two for starters. WOW! This guy can sing. I think there are only two songs that I don’t care for. So now I think I will go out and buy a CD from the newer singers out there and see if I like their music, I know that Trace has been out there awhile but I was only listening to the ones from the 60’s & 70’s, silly silly me, I guess the country girl is still in me somewhere.

Girl, we can talk Trace anytime! My mom and I have had a huge crush on him for years. And what a talent! I met him once a few years back, working for US99, and he is seriously 7 feet tall. He is HUGE, but has a heart of gold. And that voice! Ugh! I just melt. Glad to know you like country too. Nothing beats good simple honest music
Check out the music on my blog today - it’s done by Brad Paisley and Sara Evans - two big country stars.

LOL, sorry honey. I know you don’t like it but I will not play it while you are home, just like you don’t play that metal crap around me
K I had no idea you were into country, how cool is that! He is so serious it is funny how he says things that are funny but he doesn’t laugh, I love that about him. I really hope he wins the apprentice. The thing I love about country music is that the music is about stories. Like Dolly Parton’s coat of many colors is about her life and the coal miners daughter from Lorretta Lynn is about her life. There is a song from Trace that I am wondering if it is about his life, its called working mans wage. 7 feet tall? Damn that is a big dude.
