Classic Sports Movies
Here are a few of my favorite classic sports movies.
Baseball - Major League
- Starring Wesley Snipes, Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Rene Russo
Basketball - Fish That Saved Pittsburgh
- No this is not a very good movie but if you have about 90 minutes to kill and you wanna see some bad acting from Dr J and Kareem its not THAT bad.
Football - The Longest Yard
- I am not talking about the newer version with Adam Sandler , I am talking about the older version staring Burt Reynolds.
Golf - Caddyshack
- Great golf movie, Bill Murray in one of his funniest roles. Also starring Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield and Ted Knight.
Hockey - Slapshot
- This is arguably one of the funniest sports movies ever made, you don’t even have to like hockey to enjoy the slapstick humor. Starring Paul Newman.
If you have not seen Caddyshack or Slapshot these are must see guy movies, if you have not seen them yet them go out NOW and rent them. Anyone else have any favorites?

Bowling - Kingpin
- Don’t know how I forgot this one. Woody Harrelson stars with Bill Murray in this one about a bowler with a rubber hand.

Hands down - Escape To Victory… Sylvester Stallone playing football with some of the all time greats (Pele, Bobby Moore), just classic.
(Many thanks for your comment on my ‘Results’ post, it makes a great difference knowing that there are real success stories there to inspire)

Good picks - Slapshot is HYSTERICAL! Is that the one w/ the Hansen brothers????

Yes you are correct. The Hansen brothers are in that movie.
