American Idol First Cuts Round of 24

Entertainment 2 Comments »

Its over for this week, 4 are gone, 2 guys and 2 girls.  I lost some eye candy tonight, Amy Davis is gone for the women.  I was a little worried when they called Amanda Overmyer up, she’s my rocker chick who I wouldn’t mind see winning, but she survived, whew.

As for the guys the Lief Garrett wanna be got the axe as well as one of the two guys I wanted to see go, Colton Berry, he is horrible.  I loved Simons advice, “Get a real job and sing for fun, because you will never be a recording artist”.  That’s right Simon kick him while he’s down.

American Idol Season 7

Once again this year America Idol has taken over Fox and has interrupted my favorite TV show ( House ). Does this really need to be on 3 days a week? Well I suppose it does with the way the format is setup, but why Tues Wed Thu, why not Wed Thu Fri, so House is not interrupted.

I admit I watch this ridiculous show, in the beginning I watch to see the fools on there that think they can sing. I cannot believe how upset they get when they are told they suck. Do their friends tell them they are great and should go on the show just so they can sit home and laugh uncontrollably, rolling around on the floor while their friend makes a complete idiot of themselves. There can be no other logical explanation.

The reason I watch now that it is down to the final 24 is just to see the eye candy if there is any and hope that they get to stay on the show as long as possible. I do usually have a favorite or two, most of the time they are the rocker type. Its about time for a rocker to win. Daughtery got close but didn’t win, maybe its for the best though, since the winners have to sell their souls to the program for a year.

This year I am hoping for Amanda Overmyer, Michael Johns, Robbie Carrico or David Archuleta to win. And if Kady Malloy, Kristy Lee Cook, Amy Davis and Brooke White can stay in as long a s possible it will ease my pain of missing ” House “.

Who do I want to go NOW: Danny Noriega and Colton Berry. Please no one vote for them.

Hopefully that used enough of these wannabes to help get some traffic to the site.

Tonight was my monthly dinner date with my cousin K, as always I had a good time.

As I was driving home (in the fast lane) I didn’t notice that a white mini van was coming up fast behind me. In the slow lane was a semi-truck and there was a car in front of me. Well this guy comesthisclose behind the semi, and I thought to myself (I hate when people tailgate!) Well there was no room for this moron to merge over to my lane, OR SO I THOUGHT! This jackass merges over without warning (meaning no blinker) and makes me slam on my brakes. Well I lay on my horn to let him know that it was uncalled for what he just did, and this SOB has the nerve to roll down his window and flip me off. Well for those who know me well you all know that I was not going to let him get away with that. I could not believe that he did that, I mean he is the one who could have cause an accident! So I put my brights on and for about 5 miles I drove like that until he merge back over to the other lane. Of course when he did that I turned my brights off and went on driving while this moron continued to merge in and out of the lanes. About 20 minutes later I noticed (yes I am watching on where he is going) that he has his turning signal on (WOW, all of a sudden it works) looks like he is getting off at the exit where the casinos are. So as I pass him he honks his horn and is flipping me off. DAMN THIS MAN!!! So of course I too honk my horn at him and flip him off. I know I know it was not the smartest thing to do but he just pissed me off thinking he could drive like an ass and yet have the nerve to flip people off.
If he was going to the casino I hope he loses all his cash!!!!!

Communications - Finally

come from a big family of aunts, uncles and tons of cousins. The one thing about my family is that many of them (including me) hold grudges, this bit of info comes in handy in this blog.
I have two GodChildren, a girl and a boy, the boy is also my nephew. The girl is the daughter of one of many cousins. Now the girl (Maddie) was my first GodChild, I was honored when I was asked to be her GodMother, I knew what my duties were as far as being a part of this childs life and I was willing to do whatever I had to to keep that promise.
As Godparent you are promising GOD that you will help this child believe in GOD have faith in GOD and follow the steps of GOD. I was off to a good start until Maddie’s mother (my cousin) decided to pull her from visiting me. I am not sure why that was it was so long ago but never the less it hurt. I would send her gifts for her birthday, Christmas, Valentines, Easter and just because gifts and cards throughout the years. Word had it that my cousin wanted to throw everything away but people convinced her not to do so. This went on for a few years until one year I was able to see her again, oh what joy it was to see her yet sad because of the years I missed. Maddie knew then that I loved her, I would tell her everytime I talked to her and I wrote it in the cards I would send her. Then once again I couldn’t see Maddie again. I think my cousin is bipolar(sp) she has a lot of anger in her too (that is the fault of her parents) She never gave me a reason but I know it had to do with my mother, I know it sounds dumb but like I said in the beginning there is a lot of us not speaking to each other for many many reasons.
But three years ago I could no longer see Maddie. Sad as it is I try not to dwell on it other wise I will cry ( I am very emotional). Just the other day my eldest daughter received a text on her phone and it was from Maddie! She was using her sisters phone. So I was able to text her back, I told her that I missed her and loved her very much, she replied that she knows I love her and that she loves me back. She mentioned that she wanted to ask her mother if I could go and visit but I told her not to because she might get repremanded for talking to me. She sent me a text photo of herself and I cannot believe how much she has grown, she will be a teen next month, boy how time flies. It made my night just to know that she does think of me just like I think of her and that she took the time to text and to let me know she is doing ok. I guess it looks like I will have to wait until she is 18 before I see her again. But that is ok, it is well worth the wait. I will take her out for lots of dinners so that we can catch up on our lost times together.

Our Petless Family

Family, Random 11 Comments »

We are a petless family.  Its not because we don’t like animals, we do, we just like different types and do not share the same views on them.

Kids view - They want pets, they really do not care what type, altho Twin 1 is seriously afraid of dogs so I think she would rather have a cat.

Queens view - She wants cats because they are easy to care for and you don’t see them.  She has had cats in the past and also one dog that she had to get rid of.  If she did ever get a dog it would be an Alaskan Husky.  If we did get a dog then she would want it to stay in the basement.

Kings view - I really HATE cats, they are totally useless.  Do they help protect your home? Nope.  Can you take them to the park to pick up chicks? Nope.  What’s the point then.  Only problem is that you need to pick up the crap after they do their jobs.  This is the one reason I can do without getting a dog right now, I HATE picking that up, made me wanna puke when I used to do it when I was younger.

When I was growing up we had a total of 3 dogs. The first dog was a German Shepard and wolf mix, it was about half the size of a Shepard but still had attitude.  It was a great family dog, we have picture of the dog laying on ther ground while I wrestled with it.  If you look at the picture the dog is looking up as if to say ” come on kid can’t you see I was trying to take a nap “.  She was a great protector of the house, luckily we never had any intruders but she was always aware of what was happening outside and around the house.  When my Dad was not home at night, if you heard a noise you would just have to look at the dog, if she was still quiet then there was nothing to worry about.

Our second dog was a Cocker Spaniel, not a good protector but a good family dog nonetheless.  We had this dog for about a month before we got our 3rd dog, it was a Shepard/Terrier mix.  My aunt brought it over one weekend because the place she worked at was going to drown the dog ( I know sick people ) and she knew my mother would not turn it away.  If anyone remembers the TV show Boomer, that is what he looked like.  He was a good family dog and protector when needed.  Smart as hell, we would play football and hide and seek with it.  He would line up on defense and cover receivers, when we played hide and seek we would hide and then call the dog to find us.  One time I remember we were hiding under a kids swimming pool and he stuck his nose under the pool, lifted it up and crawled in to find us.

These two dogs were inseparable, they would go everyplace together and looked out for one another.  If they got out of the yard and the other was not right by their side they would come back and look for the other.  Sadly they both got sick when they were about 13 years old and we had to put them down, it was the only humane thing to do.  It was very rough on everyone.

After that my parents didn’t get any more animals, they wanted to go on vacations and didn’t want to have to worry about finding someone to watch them like we had to do with the others.  My parents did not believe in taking them to a kennel so that was out of the question for when they wanted to go on a trip.

So until our kids agree to pick up dog shit from the yard and the Queen agrees to let the dog have the run of the house ( with the exception of the beds and furniture ) there will be no dogs.  I don’t see us ever getting a cat either since I find them worthless, although I did offer to get a cat last year.  The deal was that we could get a cat but then we were not going to get a swimming pool.  Everyone opted for the pool which we didn’t end up getting anyway.

We have agreed that once I get the basement finished then we will get a big tropical fish tank, filled with crazy fish, it was a unamimous decision, not easy with 6 people living in this house.

( I am sure that the Queen will have a big long post on this subject with her point of view )
